Passion for the Sea, now also in English
Since a few weeks ago, its web portal, which in a few years has become an informative reference of the sector at Balearic level, offers its web audience an English version. This is how "Passion for the Sea" was born, a portal with news, agenda, videos, access to social networks and other interesting content also in English.
"We know that the Balearic nautical sector has a significant number of English-speaking professionals, enthusiasts, businessmen, users and lovers of the sea, and in fact a large number of companies in the sector have English-speaking employees. Our vocation is to provide all the people related to the sector with all the information about it. And of course, to bring them aspects of our nautical culture and tradition that they may not know, such as what a 'llaüt', a 'meste d'aixa' or lateen sailing is," explains Carlos Hellín, CEO of Nautimedia and director of Passion for the Sea. "In addition, we want to contribute to continue positioning the Balearic Islands as a nautical hub of international reference, and we know that our platform is a powerful loudspeaker to reach the international community with everything that is happening in the Balearic nautical sector," he adds.
"This is a heavy investment of resources for Nautimedia Comunicación, but we assume it as a commitment to the future with optimism and commitment, because we know that it is a decision that will increase the influence of our communication in the international nautical sector, as well as helping to strengthen the image of the Balearic Islands as a nautical destination of reference," says Hellín, who explains that his team has translated and revised more than 500 entries, encompassing all content from the beginning of 2023.
Pasión por el Mar was born almost 10 years ago as a TV and radio programme focused on Balearic sailing. The programme, self-financed, saw the light of day on Balearic regional radio and television in 2014, as "Passion for the Sea" and later moved to Canal 4, now also registered as "Passion for the Sea", where it can currently be enjoyed, as well as on Youtube and social networks. More than 300 guests have passed through the microphones and cameras of Passion for the Sea, with important figures in the nautical world, in more than 170 radio programmes and almost a hundred television programmes produced to date.
Once the TV and radio programme was consolidated, Passion for the Sea added to its portfolio as a multiplatform of nautical content, a completely free web portal, without fees or sponsorship contributions, which has become an informative reference in the sector, with news, agenda, videos, access to social networks and other content of interest, always with the philosophy of putting a smile on the sea.
